Armed with
an arsenal of instruments, Mythica (Melissa Cox, Matt Smith, Michele
McCann, Tim Kelly) takes listeners on a sonic rollercoaster ride.
Whether it’s a funky Celtic jam, jaunty bluegrass tune, soulful
ballad, or driving acoustic rock piece, Mythica’s songs are inventive
but accessible, fresh yet familiar. Influenced by Irish, Scottish and
World music, and by contemporary artists like Tori Amos, Sarah
McLachlan, Simon and Garfunkel, and Led Zeppelin, Mythica’s sound is a
melting pot of genres tied together with powerful vocals, addictive
melodies, provocative lyrics, and interesting instrumentation.
Since 2005, Mythica has shared the stage with some of the biggest
names in the Celtic, folk, and pop/rock markets, including the Spin
Doctors, Sister Hazel, Black 47, the Makem Brothers, Young Dubliners,
Catie Curtis, Tom Chapin, and many others.
They have appeared at some of the largest festivals and most
prestigious venues on the East Coast, including the Long Island Irish
Festival, Richmond (VA) Celtic Festival, Pittsburgh Ethnic Festival,
Finger Lakes (NY) Wine Festival, Harrisburg (PA) ArtsFest, The Tin
Angel (Philadelphia), The Baby Grand Opera House (Wilmington, DE),
Dewey Beach (DE) Music Conference, Rumba Cafe (Columbus, OH), Woodrow
Wilson Plaza (Washington, D.C.), The Purple Fiddle (Thomas, WV),
Sellersville (PA) Theater, and hundreds more.
